Angela Chansky - Parenting Coach and President/Founder of Positive Parenting
101

My professional career in childcare began in 1989. I moved from Iowa to Boston
to become a live in nanny. During the five and a half years I lived with the
family, I developed a genuine love for their children. I went to school to
take every course in the Child Development curriculum including Child Development,
Child Pyschology, Art and Music for the Developing Child.
Over the last 16 years I have worked with hundreds of children and families
as a childcare provider, a subsitute pre-school teacher, a program coordinator
with Charles River ARC for children and teens with disabilities and I am a
licensed home daycare provider. My husband and I have a five-year-old son
with Asperger's Syndrome and we are foster parents as well.
I specialize in newborn care, and helping new parents get comfortable with
their child when they first leave the hospital. I also have over 16 years
of experience with children of all ages and developmental stages including
special needs such as Autism, Down Syndrome and Cerebal Palsy.
Melissa Patrick BA, MSW - Parenting Coach
I have devoted my life to helping others manage changes, challenges, and
transitions. As the mother of 3 children, I know firsthand how challenging
it is to raise kids. No matter how ready or realistic you think you are about
being a parent, issues come up that surprise, stymie and shake your confidence.
Drawing from my own personal experiences, I work with my clients through
difficult and challenging times. I also rely on my professional and educational
experiences. My professional experiences began over 15 years ago. As a formally
trained educator and social worker, I have worked with people of all ages, from
children in the classroom to adults in professional positions. I have been a
counselor, school teacher, teacher trainer, corporate employee trainer,
consultant and now a coach. Through the years I have strived to create safe and
trusting relationships with my clients, while cultivating an easygoing and
empowering style.
I earned a MS in Social Work from Columbia University and a BA and Teacher
Certification from the University of Rhode Island.
